Isabel Berwick

Isabel Berwick is a bestselling author and host of the Financial Times’s award-winning Working It podcast, a weekly show about the workplace, future of work, leadership, and management. With more than 2 million downloads, it is one of the top careers podcasts in the UK and also has large and ever-growing audiences in the US and Europe. She also writes a weekly Working It newsletter, for FT subscribers, covering the latest work culture trends and topics. It has a cult following among workplace leaders for its humorous tone and use of emoji. (No jargon here.) On stage, she delivers the same fun and informal but also authoritative presence that listeners and readers of the podcast and column have come to love.

Berwick’s book, The Future-Proof Career, was published by Harper Collins in April 2024 and has been a top ten Amazon bestseller in the careers category since publication. Isabel joined the FT in 1999 from the Independent on Sunday, where she was first the personal finance and later the business editor. She has held senior editing posts in FT Weekend and theOpinion desk and became Work & Careers editor in 2018, overseeing the paper’s global workplace and leadership coverage. She left that role to focus full-time on the Working It brand in 2023. Isabel is also editorial lead for the FT Women in Business forum, a membership and networking group with a live events programme. 

She is a very experienced moderator, both internally for the FT and for external events, and is a highly sought-after panelist and speaker on the workplace, management, and future of work topics covered in her podcast and book.
